DAY 1
Welcome to entebbe and the start of your adventure
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and warmly welcomed by our representative. You will be assisted with customs and immigration. You will then meet your guide who will transfer you to your hotel. Check in, followed by dinner and overnight stay at Boma Guest House.
DAY 2
Fly from entebbe airport –kasese airstrip and drive to kibale- 1hour flight, 2-hour drive
After breakfast, you may leave your extra luggage behind at the hotel to be collected on last day; alternatively, if you arrived yesterday morning, the driver will have taken it by road that morning. This morning you will carry your 15kg luggage and drive to Entebbe Airport for your morning flight to Kasese where your driver guide will be waiting to take you to Kibale. After arrival at the property, you will check in and in the late afternoon visit, the Bigodi swamps for a walk in nature identifying different plants and birds especially the great blue turaco. DAY 3
Kibale national park – chimpanzee habituation
After an early breakfast, you will depart the lodge with your packed lunches for the park headquarters for briefing thereafter proceed to the starting point. Ranger guides will lead you to the place where the Chimpanzees built their nests the previous night. If you get into the forest quite early you could find them just getting up. You will then follow one Chimpanzee group and spend the entire time observing how they spend their day feeding, breastfeeding the little ones, hunting, patrolling among other activities till they build new nests where they will stay during the night. You will also see other primates in the forest like the Black and White Colobus Monkeys; Black faced Red Colobus, Red Tailed Monkeys, Olive Baboons and a variety of bird species. The experience for research reasons is 4 hours. You will then return to your lodge and relax.
DAY 4
Kibale national park – queen elizabeth national park- 3hours drive
Breakfast at the lodge and carry a packed lunch as you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Set against the backdrop of the jagged Rwenzori Mountains, the park’s magnificent vistas include dozens of enormous craters carved dramatically into rolling green hills, panoramic views of the Kazinga Channel with its banks lined with hippos, buffalo and elephants, and the endless Ishasha plains, whose fig trees hide lions ready to pounce on herds of unsuspecting Uganda Kob. Check in to Marafiki Safari Lodge and in the evening enjoy an evening game drive in the Park.
DAY 5
Morning game drive- afternoon boat ride on the kazinga channel
After breakfast, embark on a morning game drive exploring the park where there are high chances of seeing mammals like; Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Antelopes to mention but a few. You will then return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will proceed for a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel. This channel is among the most important features in Queen Elizabeth National Park (which is the most well liked game reserve in Uganda covering an entire land area of 1,978 sq km). The channel has the wonderful view of the most important wildlife ventures within Queen Elizabeth National Park.
DAY 6
Queen elizabeth national park- game drive in ishash -2-hour drives
After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth for Ishasha sector. Ishasha sector famously known for the tree-climbing lions. It is believed that the lions have adopted this unusual behavior to escape the tsetse flies and the heat of the lower ground. Being perched on a tree branch is also advantageous when it comes to finding supper, as they can observe their prey from high above. You will enjoy a drive in the sector before checking in to your accommodation Enjojo Lodge for the night.
DAY 7
Morning game drive and proceed to bwindi national park- 3-hour drive
After breakfast, you will have a morning game drive in Ishasha and get a chance to spot other animals like Hyenas, Fish Eagle or even a second glimpse of the tree-climbing lions. After your drive, you will proceed to Bwindi National Park. Bwindi is estimated to have half of the world’s surviving population of mountain gorillas –300 and more live within Bwindi boundaries. Stays at Mahogany Springs Lodge.
DAY 8
Bwindi national park- 1st gorilla trekking
After an early breakfast and briefing from the guides, set off for the mountains gorilla trekking inside the Bwindi forest. You will need to carry drinking water, rain jacket and hiking boots while the rangers will provide you with a walking stick. Gorilla trekking is one of the unique activities you will enjoy while photographing and observing. After trekking, come back to the lodge for late lunch and spend the rest of the evening relaxing.
DAY 9
Bwindi national park- second gorilla trekking
After an early breakfast and briefing once again, you will proceed to the park for the second Gorilla trekking. Buhoma sector was first opened when the Mubare Gorilla Family was set for tourists in 1993. The Gorilla families in Buhoma sector have since multiplied to the various families of Mubare, Rushegura and Habiyanja.
DAY 10
Bwindi national park- fly from kihihi to entebbe- 2hour 30 minutes’ flight
Breakfast at the lodge and check out. Transfer to Kihihi airstrip for your scheduled morning flight to Entebbe. You will carry a packed lunch and your luggage will be brought to you at the airport you will depart for your outbound International flight.
